Life has been a complete whirlwind lately, and I'm in total shock that Thanksgiving is in two days. WHERE DID THIS YEAR GO? Someone please tell me. I have barely been in San Francisco these past two months and I have to admit I'm craving a weekend where I barely leave my house.

Here is a peek at what I have been up to the past few months during my travels:

A renovated Gypsy Wagon at Strawberry Music Festival

Beautiful view while eating lunch in Sedona, Arizona

Admiring The Grand Canyon

Two best friends and three mustaches in Big Sur, California

The most beautiful breakfast spot in the whole world. Rainbow House in Big Sur.

Free People Does it Again

I adore Free People as a brand. Always have and probably always will. When I saw their fall/winter limited addition dresses I just about fell out of my seat. These are my two favorites.

Vintage Guitar Case

While at Strawberry Music Festival in Yosemite, CA this past September {told you I would share what I have been up to}, I fell in love with this vintage guitar case. How could you not? It was in perfect condition and owned by a fantastic musician who was happy to let me snap a few photos of it.

Back and Ready for Action

A large tree in Yosemite this past September
It's really hard to start this particular post. It's even harder to admit that it's been two months since I last blogged. Something came over me. Perhaps it was the huge life change I was making at the time, or the fact that my Mac was a victim of extreme water damage and I have been computer-less up until yesterday. To be honest... it was 100% both of those things. Here I am telling you the extreme truth, I am truly excited for you to be back in my life.

This being said I'm so sorry for leaving my followers hanging. I stopped 'Pinning' to my boards, 'Tweeting' as much and even working on my personal photography. When I got my computer back from the doctor {apple genius bar} yesterday I was overcome with the feeling of "what have I been doing the past two months"? {this question will be answered}

I'm happy to report that I am back in the blogging world with high hopes and a positive outlook. I'm working on a completely new blog design, planning out consistant weekly features and am really excited to start sharing my personal photography more often. The reason for the tree picture above is to symbolize growth for not only myself but my blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sticking with me. I can promise you that things are about to get really interesting around here.

Big Changes

photo taken by me in the beautiful Golden Gate Park

Life is about to get a whole lot different around these parts. Tomorrow is my last day at my current job. Why might you ask?! I've decided to embark on the journey of going back to school to get my BFA in Web Design and Advertising. It really hasn't hit me yet, not even a little. I'm sure it will at some point in the next few days. Weeeeeeeee!

Loving The Weaver House

Happy Friday!
Have you discovered the Portland based creative ladies over at the Weaver House? I'm loving everything about them from their look books to their online shop. What a dream it is to work with, or for, them someday.

Here is what the weekend holds:
- Mexican Fiesta at our house tonight. I make a mean chicken taco.
- Volunteering at the Free Farm on Saturday in SF. {you should do the same!}
- Going out dancing with J into the wee hours
- A nice relaxing Sunday at home

Outside Lands via Instagram

1. Festival shoes/  2. Wine Lands/  3. A bouquet from the DIY Bouquet table/  4. Clouds didn't stop us one bit/  5. Twin Peaks Stage= My favorite stage/  6. Me and my best friends in my backyard pre festival
Outside Lands Music Festival came and went, and in all honesty happened way too fast. I had such a magical weekend, saw some of my favorite bands, danced with close friends by my side and definitely indulged in some tasty food. Some highlights include: Of Monsters of Men set, sweet potato tater tots with berry-bbq sause and dancing with my boy. If you went I hope you didn't let the massive crowds effect you and that you had a wonderful time overall.

Friday Joy

photo taken by my dear friend Daniella Dolenc with her film Canon ae-1
Last night J and I were talking about how the human race truly lives for the weekends. Its our time to put up our feet, relax and not think about the tasks that Monday thru Friday hold. I hope you have a splendid weekend!

It's All Ok

photo taken by me on Instagram

All in good in the world. There isn't something that clicked in my head and made me decide to take a break from blogging, it just sorta happened. I simply don't feel the need to constantly post and share all my deep thoughts all the time. There are lots of life changes and new beginning going on in life right now. Don't worry I'm not quitting or giving up in any way, just taking a break.

You will definitely see me with flowers in my hair this weekend.

Outside Lands 2012

one of my favorite aspects of the festival... the wine tent

all photos from last year taken by J and I

Its Outside Lands week here in SF and it's definitely the talk of the town. Everywhere I go I hear "are you going to OSL" or "who are you most excited to see?" It's one of my favorite festivals out there due to the fact that it's in the majestic Golden Gate Park, the amazing festival styles from all the locals and the seriously awesome food and drink from some of SF's top restaurants. Here are some artists that I'm excited to see this weekend:

Tea Lady

I'm a tea lady for sure. There is something about the feeling of both my hands around the warm cup, smelling the aroma, that I just can't get enough of. This past weekend I had two unforgettable cups of tea that I simply must share.

The first {pictured above} is a cup of chai tea from Samovar Tee Lounge. Samovar is one of my go to places for a healthy meal and a perfect cup of tea. They have some pretty amazing and unique teas that you won't find anywhere else!

The second is from my local Thai food restaurant that is a total hidden gem of our neighborhood. This was a simple hot Thai tea. The best part is that open sign reflecting in the cup and that they keep the tea flowing. My cup was never empty.

The Art of Vogue

Let be honest... Vogue knows what they're doing. These covers date back from 1909-1940 and are marvelous if you ask me. Sometimes I ask myself why they still don't make em' this way cause, to me, these are flawless and so artistic.

I hope you had a great weekend. J and I took naps everyday and even took two naps on Saturday. Talk about relaxing! I blame our extreme comfortable bed.

Dining Room Perfection

As soon as I saw the dining room of Amber Lewis on Glitter Guide I felt like redesigning my entire apartment. Rather, I decided to come up with an inspirational post to share with you all cause lets be honest... it's not easy to drop everything and redue a whole house. Here is what I could add to my own space to get the look of Amber Lewis's spectacular home.

Natural flowers in a twisted flower vase

A bright throw blanket {I really need one of these!}

Fresh veggies and a cute reusable bag {photo found here}

A few {or 20} prints from River Luna's Etsy shop. I adore her work

And lastly a hanging chair to spruce up any corner

Outdoor wallpaper... YES YES YES. I love everything about it. What a unique way to spruce up a blank, modern wall.

The Big Sur Spirit Garden

unique decor all over the gardens
J playing a huge drum made from a tree trunk.
The Big Sur Bakery is very close to my heart, but what really draws me to go there is the connected Big Sur Spirit Garden. It's known to many as an international arts and cultural center. Every time I've gone to the gardens there is someone strumming away on a guitar, engaged in deep conversation or playing bongo drums. Its a space filled with such warm vibes and endless creativity. I can't wait till I am able to go again.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday wonderful people! This weekend is going to be a busy one {yay for my first wedding with Enjoy Events!}, but I'm going to be sure to make time for myself. Tonight I'm going on a double date at this restaurant, Saturday night I'm having a true sleepover party with one of my best gals and Sunday I'm hoping for a hike and cold mugged beer from my favorite Biergarden.

Absolutely loved the quote on the picture above that was hanging from my cup of tea this morning. Express yourself, always!

Life is a Great Adventure

photo taken in Hayes Valley, SF via instagram
Hi All. So you may, or may not, be wondering about my brief absence from my blog. I hate excuses so I'm not even going to make one. Truth is this past weekend I went to one of my favorite places on earth, Big Sur and more importantly this unimaginable cluster of houses that I always rent {as seen here, here and here}. While I was there I had a few days of total disconnect from technology. I began to think "do I really need these various forms of social media, electronics and gadgets in my daily life?"

It's a tough subject seeing as how I love my blog and staying in touch with far off loved ones. So here is what I've decided: Less posting so that when I do post it's sentimental and has true meaning. There is no need for me to post every single day because I will admit there is a bit of pressure and there are times when I'm just trying to fill the void for that day. I really hope you will understand where I am coming from and continue to enjoy my blog as much as I do.

Take Me Away, I Want to See...

After a whirlwind of a week, and past 24 hours, I'm feeling exhausted. This is my goal for the day: focus on the good in my life because there is a lot of it.

Vintage Menu

I'm a sucker for vintage menus and kitchenware. This old menu captured my graphic design heart.

Friday Adventure

original photo source
I'm a firm believer in traveling; and not just every few months but rather setting aside time each month to truly let go and travel. Whether it be a day trip or a long weekend, we all deserve to completely let ourselves go in the moment of where we are and what we are witnessing. I've been doing quite a bit of this in the past two months. It's so nice to set a budget and somedays not spend any money at all.

Happy Friday!

Sisterly Love

Last weekend in Austin I got to spend some quality time with my youngest sister. I can't even begin to explain the strong bond that her and I share. It's one that involves a lot of giggling, story telling and honesty. My mom took this picture of me braiding her hair and it instantly brought a tear to my eye.

Howdy Ya'll

1 Lick Ice Cream. Ah-may-zing/ 2 Hanging silver/ 3 Zilker Wilderness Hike/ 4 Beautiful Sunset/ 5 Unique art in our rental/ 6 The adorable house we rented for the trip
Austin captured my heart this past weekend. Some highlights were: Barton Springs Creek, our adorable rental house {rented from airbnb}, a seriously awesome pair of vintage lace shorts that just had to come home with me and lots of family time. I always seem to come back from Texas with a little twang in me {by the way, I really like the word ya'll}, I think its the hint of southern girl inside me wanting to explore.

Day Dreaming

I'm drooling over this backyard space. Someday I will have a yard, with grass, and will spend more time outside than inside.

And I'm Off

Hot weather, possible thunder storms and a funky shabby chic home rented from Airbnb. I'm oh so excited. Have an awesome weekend, ya'll!

ps. How cute is this {above} Austin print from the Etsy shop Loose Petals.
