Daily Dose of Vintage Tea Cups

love the gold leaf and bright pink flowers
pinky out was a must

I have been on a hunt for girly, floral and english inspired tea cups for a while now. This past weekend I hit the ultimate jackpot at two local sidewalk sales. Since I was forced to walk around with them the rest of the day {this is not a complaint, I was so happy to have them in my possession} they ended up being a great accessory for the park.

A Sunrise

Bon Iver Pandora station is beaming from my headphones, a Peet's Xiao's blend tea is in my hand and a super warm scarf is bundled up to my chin. It's 6am and I am about to watch the sunrise from the airport.

{a great song to start your day with}

photo by me
As I've said before I get pretty excited about the little things in life. This morning it just so happened to be my breakfast that get me feeling all warm and giddy inside. Toast with sliced banana, almond butter and honey. Chai double spiced tea with soy milk and a heaping spoonful of organic sugar cane.

Daily Dose of Weekend Photos

lovely flowers, thank you Mr.
lime green tiles and a delicious cocktail {recipe coming soon}

terrariums in the backyard
new piece of art hanging in the living room. thanks Mark!
This past weekend was delightful in every way possible. One of the highlights was going out dancing at an underground speakeasy with J {I can't even put a link to the venue/bar/art space because there isn't one to give!} as well as exploring the Mission District with a close girl friend all day Sunday.

Monday Morning Adventure

source/ a hint of where I am going
This morning I am embarking on an adventure. No where too far ,still with in the 7 mile radius of the city, but it's a new and exciting place that I've been wanting to vist for a while now. I suppose I could just tell you, but why not leave you in suspense with the promise of an epic detailed post about the entire morning.

Friday Happiness

 photo taken by me at the Lower Haight Mural
Quite a happy Friday indeed. The sun is shining, the air is oddly warm {I'm not complaining} and today is the day I embark on a new professional path. Life is good.

{a fun song to dance around to with all the windows open on an abnormally sunny day}

Daily Dose of Food

grilled portabella mushrooms
potatoes and sweet potatoes prior to being made into a delicious soup
flank steak + sweet corn = ultimate saturday bbq
These past few two weeks have been filled with lots of dining out {last night we went here, one of my absolute favorites}, neighborly bbqs and delicious home cooked meals. One of my favorites was the creamy potato soup {recipe found here} that J made for dinner on a chilly night.

A Wall of Number 2's

How could you not stop and stare at this wall of pencils located in The Bold Italic's San Francisco headquarters. All the interior design was done by Kelly Malone, whom I adore. I'm not kidding when I say that she is perhaps the most remarkable women on this planet.

Be sure to check out Kelly's local business, Workshop, for awesome DIY classes and {announcement} keep an eye out for my class coming in April!

Morning Cup of Tea

There was a interesting quote hanging from my cup of tea this morning. Not sure I completely agree, however I'm sure back in the Evelyn Waugh days things were a bit different.

And now for a little tune:
It's Personal- The Radio Dept

I instantly fell in love with the simplistic details of this 1915 Philadelphia home. What a creative use of a nonworking fireplace and old books!

Daily Dose of Style {the first!}

necklace- gift from a close friend. our "friendship necklaces"
ring & sweater- forever 21.
belt- gap. shorts- h & m.
raincoat- london fog, similar style here
Well, here it is... my first {real} style post! There was no better person to ask to take some photos than my dear friend Helen. I have always loved her sensational photography skills and knew that working with her would be tremendously fun. This is my typical outfit style when going out with friends for an early dinner or happy hour. It happened to be raining on and off that day, hence the rain coat under my arm. {Go check out Helen's photography skills here}

Golden Tips

I have not been able to get these black feathers out of my head since the moment I saw them. As I've said many times before {here is just one instance} I adore this inspirational women, her blog and her extremely imaginative children. Their wedding is undeniably one of the most admirable and unique events I have ever seen. These gold tipped feathers are a prime example of that.

Kicking Back

Today I'm making it a personal goal to sit back and relax. {sorry in advance for the lack of posts}

Daily Dose of Color

a friends vibrant manicure
display at Flora Grubb
A pop of color goes a long way. When I'm wondering around with my camera it's hard not to be drawn to vibrant colors. These two photos, that I snapped this past week, portray exactly that.

Luckily, this week flew by. I made a huge life changing decision to step away {quit} my full time job. I now only have one week left here and as I start to say my goodbyes I know so many more brightly colored doors are opening as this one closes.

Patterns to the Max

Photographer Steven Meisel took it to a whole new level with this shoot for Vogue back in December 2007. I love how each photo has a pinup feel to it, yet it's so soft and feminine.

Daily Dose of Inspiration

Just a little dose of inspiration to get you through the rest of your week.

Sneak Peek

A little sneak peek at a project I'm working on for this lovely lady. I don't think I set my camera down once the entire day that I was out and about.

I Heart Terrariums

Terrariums have officially made their way into my life and The Slug and the Squirrel has some of the most glorious terrariums I have ever seen.

This weekend was a great success. If you have yet to visit Samovar Tea House in San Francisco... GO!   I also finally went to Flora Grubb, an outstanding garden store known for their living walls, and afterwards had a lovely meal here.

Friday Happiness

Happy Friday to all! Today has already started off wonderfully due to this sincere post from the Jealous Curator {Danielle}. I'm overly thrilled to a part of Girl Crush San Francisco and would highly suggest signing up if you are in the New York, Portland or Austin area.

Daily Dose of Complete Randomness

Without sporadic moments life would be so boring. I snapped these photos and almost immediately knew I wanted to give them a vintage flare.

Mismatch Perfection

A decorative and uniquely decorated table never goes unnoticed. Right when I saw this one via BlueBird {a blog I've been following for-ev-er} I knew had to share. All photos are from their magical Texas wedding and I will boldly say that all the mismatching is absolutely brilliant. From the chairs, to the vases, to the plates and even the goblets; It's all flawless.

Day Dreaming

Don't mind me. I'm just day dreaming about this amazing outdoor space and pondering a way to incorporate these elements into my own backyard.
