Whirlwind

Life has been a complete whirlwind lately, and I'm in total shock that Thanksgiving is in two days. WHERE DID THIS YEAR GO? Someone please tell me. I have barely been in San Francisco these past two months and I have to admit I'm craving a weekend where I barely leave my house.

Here is a peek at what I have been up to the past few months during my travels:

A renovated Gypsy Wagon at Strawberry Music Festival

Beautiful view while eating lunch in Sedona, Arizona

Admiring The Grand Canyon

Two best friends and three mustaches in Big Sur, California

The most beautiful breakfast spot in the whole world. Rainbow House in Big Sur.

The Big Sur Spirit Garden

a human sized nest
one of the many stage areas
unique decor all over the gardens
J playing a huge drum made from a tree trunk.
The Big Sur Bakery is very close to my heart, but what really draws me to go there is the connected Big Sur Spirit Garden. It's known to many as an international arts and cultural center. Every time I've gone to the gardens there is someone strumming away on a guitar, engaged in deep conversation or playing bongo drums. Its a space filled with such warm vibes and endless creativity. I can't wait till I am able to go again.

Friday Adventure

original photo source
I'm a firm believer in traveling; and not just every few months but rather setting aside time each month to truly let go and travel. Whether it be a day trip or a long weekend, we all deserve to completely let ourselves go in the moment of where we are and what we are witnessing. I've been doing quite a bit of this in the past two months. It's so nice to set a budget and somedays not spend any money at all.

Happy Friday!

Howdy Ya'll

1 Lick Ice Cream. Ah-may-zing/ 2 Hanging silver/ 3 Zilker Wilderness Hike/ 4 Beautiful Sunset/ 5 Unique art in our rental/ 6 The adorable house we rented for the trip
Austin captured my heart this past weekend. Some highlights were: Barton Springs Creek, our adorable rental house {rented from airbnb}, a seriously awesome pair of vintage lace shorts that just had to come home with me and lots of family time. I always seem to come back from Texas with a little twang in me {by the way, I really like the word ya'll}, I think its the hint of southern girl inside me wanting to explore.

And I'm Off

Hot weather, possible thunder storms and a funky shabby chic home rented from Airbnb. I'm oh so excited. Have an awesome weekend, ya'll!

Vacation Guide

Dresses: 1, 2   Hats: 1, 2  Drink Recipes: 1, 2   Swimsuits: 1, 2
This weekend I am embarking on a girls trip with my mom and youngest sister to the spectacular city of Austin, Texas. Summers can be rough throughout all of Texas and I'm going to be sure to pack light and airy fashion forward pieces. Sipping cool drinks, taking lots of photos and exploring the city by foot are the main things on the agenda.

Mermaids

What girl hasn't been obsessed with mermaids at some point in their life? Right when our table of all girls saw these mermaids floating in our mojitos we gasped with delight. The restaurant where we discovered these beauties was one of our favorites while in Mexico. It's called Joe Jack's Fish Shack and besides the mermaids the other highlight, for me, was a wall covered in restaurant menus all from San Francisco!

Getting Excited

Photos by Sophie Van Der Perre and found here
I'm getting SO SO SO excited for this upcoming weekend. I will be attending a yoga, music and art festival in Southern California with a handful of my best friends. I've been trying to incorporate yoga into my daily life and can't wait to put it to the test this weekend. All our camping gear and my most hippie clothing are a must. Right when I saw these hippie chic inspired photos by photographer Sophie Can Der Perre I knew it was time for an excitement post.

Daily Dose of Paradise

my beautiful friend Daniella and a candle lantern above an outdoor plush bed
lover birds
relaxing with my feet up and exploring one of the neighboring hotels
outside the Hacienda San Angel {where we went for our bday dinner}
the necessities {sun hat, mojito and portable music player} and the great room in the house where we were staying
so happy to share a birthday with one of my closest friends
I felt that it was about time I shared photos from my birthday vacation to Mexico. I went with four of my closest friends, one of which I share the same birthday with {pictured above}. Swimming in the warm ocean was big on my list of things to do, as was getting an even tan to bring back with me to SF. One of the highlights was a spectacular dinner at the hotel Hacienda San Angel and endless amounts of girl talk the entire trip.

Ok, now I'm feeling a bit of nostalgia. {sigh}

Illuminated

photo by one of my best's, Daniella
I'm back from my birthday trip to Mexico, and I hate to complain in any way shape or form but reality doesn't even compare to where I was the past four days. This photo was taken as I was making my birthday wish by one of my closest friends, whom is also a photographer, Daniella. {go check out her online portfolio} Prepare yourself because I am going to be posting mass amounts of photos from the trip.

This and That: Coachella Style

photo source
This was the first year, in four years, that I have not gone to Coachella Music Festival. I needed a break, and thats all there is to it. However, as soon as I started seeing tweets, posts and outfit photos I started to feel the dreaded feeling of regret. Dressing for the event is part of the fun and I was a bit sad to not pull out the box labeled "Coachella" from under my bed this year. Here are a few stylish outfits that I would have totally worn to the magical festival in the desert.

Take Me Back to 1967

photo found here
I instantly fell in love with this photo of Twiggy from 1967 {I wish I knew the original source. help, help!}. I mean, how could you not?! If time travel is ever invented you can find me in the 60's.

A lovely tune for your day:

Take Time for You Time

photo taken by J at the Domaine Carneros winery in Napa Valley.
Helloooo Friday! Today is a special day for J and I, it's our two year anniversary! How was I not a member of a wine club before? J gifted me the membership and lets just say the first bottle had our taste buds beggin' for more.

Side Note: Take time this weekend to completely relax and do something for yourself. That is exactly what I am doing in this picture. Right after this photo was taken I remember thinking to myself "it truly doesn't get much better than this". {I'm sure the sparking wine and warm sunshine helped a little}

Some Fashion for Your Friday

photo source
Perhaps it's because Mexico is on my mind non stop lately {I'm going for my birthday in May!!!} but this shoot for Grazia Germany back in April 2012 made me even more excited. So many vibrant colors, textures and perfect fashion direction by Nino Cerone. I'm ready to admit that this shoot might be in my top ten favorites, this one is also way up there.

Mexico On My Mind

Mexico is constantly on my mind lately due to the fact that I will be there for my birthday next month. I'm pretty sure its going to be one of the most epic birthdays yet, complete with five of my best girl friends. I'm still in search of the perfect new swimsuit but other than that I am planning on bringing lots of flowy dresses and skirts. {all photos from the collage above were found here}

Big Sur Bound

original map found here
Today is the day! I'm headed to Big Sur, one of my favorite places on earth, with four of my closest friends. Doesn't get much better than this, in my opinion. This quote has been echoing in my head the past few days, very fitting for this trip:

"A life without adventure is likely to be unsatisfying"

Monday Morning Day Dream

photo source
It's Monday morning and I'm already day dreaming about traveling south to Big Sur this Friday. I'm beyond excited for this girls only trip in which we are planning on doing lots of art projects, hiking in the forests and cooking delicious meals together. Big Sur is one of my favorite places on earth and I'm thrilled to finally share it with some of my best gal's.
